Viola Todd Nicholson, age 93, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017 at Kirby Pines Retirement Community in Memphis, TN. She was born May 8, 1924 to Donnie and Jefferson Walls. She was charter member of Fairview United Methodist Church and after moving to Memphis, she attended Collierville Methodist Church. She was the owner of Viola's Lace and Nylon Shop and later changed the name to Viola's Drapery in Pontotoc for many years. Viola was a Worthy Matron in the Eastern Star. She enjoyed sewing and her greatest accomplishment was modeling a dress she made at MS College. Viola was deeply committed to her faith, family and friends. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Services will be at 11:00 AM Monday, December 4, 2017 at Browning Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc, MS, with Rev. Don Johnson officiating; burial will follow in the Pontotoc Memorial Gardens. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her two sons, Jeffrey Todd (Debbie) of Germantown, TN and Jerry Todd of Picayune, MS; one sister, Sara York, of Memphis, TN; two brothers, Garland Walls and Donald Walls of Memphis, TN; three grandchildren, Susan Todd Eaton (Kyle) of Germantown, TN, Rebecca Todd of Indianapolis, IN and Megan Todd of Picayune, MS; and two great-grandsons, Jackson Todd Eaton and Emmanuel Marcus Todd.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, L.Q. Todd, the father of her children and Joe Nicholson, and several sisters and brothers.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 AM Monday at the funeral home.

Viola was such an elegant lady. She was a beauty in appearance and spirit. Her faith was a shining example to all.

Mrs Viola Todd was the epitome of an elegant, sweet Southern lady. As a young girl I admired her business sense and classic sense of style and grace. She will be greatly missed by many and especially her family which she trasured. Sincerely Lois White Shanks
