Mercedes Ramirez, age 88, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 30, 2017, with her family by her side in Sandy Springs, Maryland. She was born January 16, 1929, in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico. At the age of 20, she moved to New York City.
She lived a fulfilling life as a wife, mother, sister, and friend. Mercedes married Rafael Ramirez on November 11, 1950. She worked in the community with the youth, Board of Elections, and in the Board of Education as a school aide, but her most important job was being a mom of six. She loved the Lord and sharing the gospel at every opportunity, to all who came in contact with her. She was a member of Immanuel's Church, Silver Spring, Maryland.
She is survived by her three siblings Margarita, Aurora (Doris) and Juan Batista (Juanito), and her children Walkydia (Katie), Wanda, Wilma, Willard (Ralph), Wally, and Warren, along with their spouses and children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her legacy will live on in our hearts and minds, and with everyone, forever.

My heart goes out to the family and friends . A beautiful soul gone to soon but a chosen one to walk with the lord. Though I know you will miss your mother she will always be forever in your life a beautiful soul unforgotten that will live forever in your heart.
May God bless all of you.
