Joan Tisdale, 84, of Amarillo passed away Monday, December 4, 2017. No services are scheduled at this time. Joan was born February 3, 1933 in Littlefield to Lee and Mettie Meadows. Joan married Billie Rae Tisdale on August 31, 1952. They celebrated 26 years of marriage, until his death in 1979. Joan was a very private person, that enjoyed playing dominoes, card games, needlepoint sewing and crocheting. She retired from Texaco in 1993. Joan loved her entire family, especially all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Joan was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two brothers. Survivors include a daughter Denise Hand and husband Bill; a son Kenneth "Kenny" Tisdale; sisters, Yvonne Walton, and Ava Lacy and husband Don; 5 grandchildren April Buchanan, Heather Schnelle and husband Aaron, Dee Dee Stone, Tara Tisdale and Landon Tisdale; eight great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild; and a very dear friend, Latrice Griffin.
