Evelyn Janet Romero was born on 15 Aug 1942 at Snodland, Kent, England to Arthur and Grace Constance Williamson. The Lord called her home on 3 Dec 2017.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Robert Allan Romero. The Williamson family of six girls, Hannah, Miriam, Gracie, Eileen, Norma, Evelyn, and two boys, Charlie and Michael, were raised in Snodland. Only two of her siblings, her brother Michael Williamson and sister Eileen Thomas, survive her. Other surviving family is daughter Kate Romero (Reynolds) and son Andrew Romero, as well as stepson Roger Romero. Evelyn also leaves behind her grandchildren, Julian, Aiden, Kyle and Emily Romero.
Evelyn arrived in America in 1964 to be a Nanny to the Senior Senator Brewster of Maryland. She met her husband Robert Romero at Daytona Beach, Florida in November of 1970.
Evelyn was employed as a Financial Advisor at Grafenwoehr, Germany and later as a medical office receptionist in Williamsburg, Virginia. After retirement she volunteered at FISH in Williamsburg. Evelyn loved helping those in need. She never met a stranger that could not relate to her and she offered assistance and comfort to all. She also loved animals small and large.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 10 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg. The family will receive friends the hour prior to the service.
Donations in Evelyn's honor may be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) and condolences may be shared at www.nelsenwilliamsburg.com.
