A Memorial Service for Robert “Bobby” Ayer Richardson, 59, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2017, at St. Andrews Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends from noon until 1:00 p.m. prior to and following the service at the church. Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo is assisting the family.
Bobby passed away Monday, December 4, 2017. Born in Columbia, he was a son of Robert O’Neal Richardson and Zelma Ayer Richardson. Bobby was a graduate of Chapin High School and received his BS in Engineering Technology in 1982 from Clemson University. He was co-owner of Ideal Construction Company and built numerous church and school projects throughout South Carolina. He and his family made their home on Lake Murray where they spent their time boating and enjoying the lake. He was an avid Clemson Tiger fan who most recently celebrated Clemson’s 2016 National Championship.
Surviving are his wife, Laura Long Richardson; daughters, Morgan Elise Richardson, Emma Claire Richardson; brother, Kenneth O. Richardson (Lynn); sister, Deborah Hammersla (Bob); nephews and nieces, Lee Hammersla (Lisa), Matthew Richardson (Christie), Kristen Wallace (Kevin), Caroline Glenn (Mikey), Johnathan Shiflet and Alyssa Shiflet. He is also survived by his father-in-law, Larry Long and sister-in-law, Lisa Chapman (John).
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to The Future Scholar 529 Plan, PO Box 749, White Rock, SC 29177.
