After the war, Louis married Mary Ford on December 27, 1947 in Jackson County, Missouri at Kansas City and they remained together for their entire lives. His post-war goal was to work in dental healthcare. While in the Naval Reserves, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1952 which sent him to dental school training. I met Lou about 6 years ago while I was renting a room from his and Mary's long-time friend, Pat Weigt. Got to really know Lou when I started driving him to Catholic mass. Developed a lasting friendship with over these past years and did many handyman projects for him. He was a great man that had seen many changes in his life time and talked to me about them many times. He was a true man of God and I admired him for that. Lou has gone now to be with his maker and you are truly a new man with no imperfections. God bless you my brother.

Lou was a great and kind man! He always brought fun to our dinner parties and his sense of humor and care for others made an impact for us all. Prayers that the light of Christ will be shown through his legacy.

I met Lou and Mary in 1985 , I lived 3 houses down from them on Rancho . Lou walked my dogs and took great care of Jogger and my Scotties as I had to be out of town with my work . I loved these neighbors like family. I have been very Blessed to have them in my life. I have great memories of them and especially my buddy "Lou". Thank-you for this great generation.
