Marilyn Maxwell, 84, of Chatham, passed away on December 5, 2017. Marilyn was born on December 10, 1932 in Springfield, Illinois to Dale and Mamie Saunders Gibbs.
Marilyn is survived by her two daughters: Marcia Champion of Chatham, Illinois and Bonnie (Terry) Chevalier of Divernon, one granddaughter Katie (Brandon) Packard, one great granddaughter Quinn Packard, sisters Lori Goodman and Velda Fafoglia, and her two grand-dogs Annie and Albert. Marilyn was preceded in death by both of her parents, two brothers Delbert and Merle Gibbs, and three sisters Wilma Foster, Jean Carter, and Shirley Bambrough.
Marilyn was the secretary for Chatham Elementary School and later for the Sangamon County Regional Superintendent of Schools Office. Marilyn retired in 1995 and enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and also staying at home with her dogs.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protective League, 1001 Taintor Road, Springfield, Illinois 62702 and please visit the online "Life Remembered Story" at www.bischandsonfuneralhome.com.
