John and I were close friends for eight years while we attended St. Michael's School and played on the basket ball and baseball teams which were coached by Mr.Tom Carolan on basketball and Mr. Robert Sweeney on baseball. After St. Michael's John attended Priory high school and I attended Gonzaga high school and later he attended Catholic University and I attended Maryland University. Years later we renewed our friendship while we developed our careers until his recent death. I always enjoyed John's great sense of humor and his broad interest and activities in the Washington DC area. I will badly miss John but know that he is now with the parents he loved and cared for throughout their lives - Dr. J. Richard Burke .
