Carrol Carl Alexie passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones, on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at the age of 86. He was the beloved husband of Shirley Williams Alexie for over 64 years. He was the father of Carol Ledet (Noah), Carl "Buster" Alexie (Patti), and the late Brian Alexie Sr.; grandfather of Dodie Jordan (John), Brian Alexie Jr., Brock Ledet (Dana), Brent Ledet (Barbara), Brandon Alexie (Danielle), Beau Alexie (Jessica), Cody Alexie (Ashley), as well as the late Brad Alexie; Great grandfather of Jonathan Jordan (Brittney), Justin Alexie, Trent Ledet, Kayla Alexie, Taylor Ledet, Emma Alexie, Kinsley Alexie, Mason Alexie, and Beckham Alexie; great great grandfather of Zedin Jordan; son of the late Martin and Nora Thiel Alexie; brother of Rita Mae Prestenbach (James), Susan Prestenbach (Roland), Johnny Alexie, and Joann Klaffer, as well as the late Francis Caulfield, Felix Alexie Sr., Shirley Gonzales, Martin Alexie Jr., Regina Williams, and Vincent Alexie Sr. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. The family would like to thank Melinda and the rest of the staff with Heart of Hospice for their kind support and care during this difficult time.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the chapel of Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 1:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in St. Pius X Cemetery in Crown Point, LA. Express condolences at www.westsideleitzeagan.com.
