Alicia Silva Aguirre born August 29, 1929, loving, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother went to be with our Lord December 9, 2017. We rejoice with blessed assurance of eternal life! (2 Corinthians 5:1,8) Lifelong resident of El Paso, she retired from Ysleta Independent School District. She knew no strangers and loved talking to all about the love of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and pets. Alicia is survived by her six children, Rosemarie Quinton (John), Eleanor Duchene (George Jr.), Hector Aguirre Jr. (Betsy), Lorraine Gelabert, Daniel Aguirre, and Maryann Estrada (Eduardo). Nine grandchildren, Erika Nieto (Christopher), Marcus Duchene (Amy), Derick Aguirre (Elizabeth), Natalie Martinez (Armando), Paul Duchene (Michael Williams), Tiffany Parry (Dylan), Clayton Aguirre, Matthew Gelabert, and Anneliesse Silva (John). Twelve great-grandchildren: Mia Nieto, Ana Lucia Nieto, Lyla Martinez, Andre Silva, Max Silva, Ava Aguirre, Emma Aguirre, William Parry, Ella Duchene, Luke Aguirre, Robert Parry, and Kayla Silva. She is survived by her brother Felix Apodaca (Norma). She was preceded by her husband Hector Aguirre Sr., parents Isacc Sr. and Librada Apodaca, brothers Ike, Samuel, and Carlos Apodaca. Her love of God, love for others and compassion for animals will forever live in her children and children's children. In lieu of flowers, donations to the El Paso Humane Society in her memory. Celebration of Life will be January 06, 2018 from 1pm-5pm with a service at 1:30pm at Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina. Arrangements under the direction of Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina.

I was truly blessed to know such a lovely woman, mother, grandmother, neighbor. I have never meet anyone sweeter than Alicia. She had a heart of gold. Always thinking of other before herself.
