Marvin Roberts, 61, passed away on December 8, 2017. Marvin grew up in Northeast Houston and attended Smiley High School. After marrying the love of his life, Kathy Ballard, their adventures moved them to several places including Humble, Huffman, Sulphur Springs, Spring and most recently, Magnolia, Texas. He owned his own business, Roberts Machine Tool Service, and was trained and mentored by his father-in-law, Larry Ballard. Marvin had an impeccable reputation with his family, friends and business associates. He cherished his family and had a very special place in his heart for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved all of his many friends from church, work, school, neighbors and camping buddies. Marvin and Kathy had recently discussed selling their home and becoming full time RVer's.
Marvin would want everyone to know that it's important to live your life as a Christian. He often prayed that he would be a good example to others. Marvin was baptized March 7, 1981 by Cody Sargent and attended Fairbanks Church of Christ. When Marvin and Kathy were traveling, they frequently had the opportunity to attend church services in other cities or states and he always enjoyed meeting fellow Christians.
Marvin is survived by his wife of 41 years and best friend, Kathy Roberts, his son, Wes Roberts (wife Stephanie, and children, Tyler, Kinley, Annabelle and Logan), his son, James Wade (wife Julie, and children, Ashley, Madelyn, Devin and Trevor), grandchildren Courtney and Colby Walston, great grandsons, Brantley and Kaysen, his brother, Mark Roberts and family, and his sister, Kathy Crippens and family. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Amy, his parents, Marvin and Betty Roberts and his sister, Sara.

Tears have fallen knowing you were so sad, hearts broken because we love you. Now we will rejoice because where you have gone there are no more tears, no sadness. You rest at the feet of our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you Father for taking care of my sweet friend, Marvin Roberts.

My family moved to Magnolia 3 years ago and felt blessed to find Marvin and Kathy as our new neighbors. We always loved the people in Texas and Marvin and Kathy reinforced this as we helped each other out over the years. I can't think of a more friendly caring person than Marvin. I enjoyed conversations with him as we felled trees and fixed tractors. He will be truly missed and won't be forgotten.

Marvin and Kathy Roberts were always so kind to Gary and me when we lost our children in 2008. They helped my family so much. They are always there when you need them with open arms and sweet smiles. I will try to do the same in return. There are no words to take the pain away but God is the answer. Love and prayers for your dear family. I will see you Saturday.

Kathy, you and Marvin both provided me with a sense of family and belonging and comfort at the gym every morning during a time of my life when I needed it. Y'all didn't know that, you were just good, kind, caring and loving. You gave me friendly faces that I could depend upon every day to help me start the day with the example you set. Prayers are with you and the family that you find the peace that passes understanding.
