Joseph Chustz Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 12, 2017.

Joseph Darwyn Chustz of Madison, MS, died peacefully at home after an extended illness on December 9, 2017. Visitation will be held at Parkway Funeral Home, 1611 Highland Colony Parkway, Ridgeland, MS, on Tuesday, December 12 from 6-8 PM and funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church, Madison, Wednesday, December 13 at 11:00 AM with visitation at 10:00AM.

Darwyn was born December 10, 1953, in Jackson, MS, to Joseph Dempsey Chustz and Inez Bardin Chustz. He graduated from Provine High School and attended Hinds Jr. College. He served in the Mississippi and Louisiana National Guard for 16 years and was awarded sharp shooter champion during his service. He was married to Pamela Keyes Chustz on Valentine’s Day, 1997, and they resided in Madison. He was a career salesman and was employed for Graybar Electric for the past 20 years, and was branch manager of the Jackson branch upon his retirement.

Darwyn was an avid hunter, golfer, and Ole Miss fan. He was a member of Live Oaks and Lake Caroline Golf Clubs, and had scored a ‘hole in one’ at each course. In his younger days, he enjoyed skiing and had achieved his brown belt in karate. He enjoyed boating, cooking, and entertaining wherever he was. He loved watching his grandchildren learn to ski and teaching them to fish at Lake Caroline, spending time on the lake with his family and friends, and travelling with his wife. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Madison, and Tolleson Bible Fellowship Class.

He was preceded in death by his mother. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Keyes Chustz; his father, Joseph Dempsey Chustz (Beverly) of Florence; daughters: Julie (Mac) Mabry of Greenwood, Lauren (Mike) Graf of Jackson, MO; grandchildren: London Popp, Sydney Popp, Kaleb Popp, Mollie Mabry, and Mary Mac Mabry; also his sister Arlette (Hal) Martin of Bolton; nieces: Angela (Jeff) Smith of Madison, Ashley (Tony) Murphy of Brandon, Adrienne (Joel) Maier of Flowood; 2 great-nieces; and his in-laws: Bob and Sylvia Keyes, and Robert and Stephanie Webb all of Madison.
