Curt was my first boss! He was Director of Respiratory Care at Eastwood Hospital in El Paso, Texas in the 1970s. I was a Junior in High School and Curt made sure I did my homework and that I performed as well at school as I did at work. If I started to slack off, Curt would give me a frequent "love tap" with his massive hands and arms and I would slide about 50 yards down the hallway. I finished high school, college and medical school and I am indebted to Curt for his help, guidance and encouragement. My sincerest condolences and best wishes for his family. Mark E. Lawson MD, MPH - Pediatrics and Neonatology in El Paso Texas.

Coach was a guy how took boys and taught them how to be men. A motivator, a goal setter, ball buster.... much love to him, his family and all those people he touched along the way. He will finally be at peace as his recent journey has been tough for coach. I will cherish the times we had and loved the recent reflections over his career and life. Love you coach. Tom BoBo
Just heard that Coach Cicotte passed Monday night. He was a great Coach, motivator, Christian, and maker of young men. I will try to post anything I hear on the services. R.I.P Curt Cicotte 1947-2017. PJ Tyler
A very good man. Robert Russo

Wow. That's sad to hear. Great Coach. Mario Espinoza
Sorry to hear of his passing, Coach Cicotte welcomed me into the gym as an outsider, but I did my damndest to make sure I lived up to my end of the deal. I tried to meet up with him when you guys arranged it but we could never get it lined up at the same time. Thanks for the news. He was always a great inspiration. And hilarious. Doug Landers
From phil tyler...he was the man! Proud he touched my boys lives!
We wanted to share Coach Cicotte's memorial information since we know that he had such an impact on all of us - even those who didn't know him but know the impact that he had on the men we married. You can write a note of condolence, and I am sure that Jane and her family would love to have you all at the memorial. Angle and Mike Russo
Thank you Angel for this posting. We had the privilege of knowing Curt and his family. His life was filled with sharing, friendship, and love. His memory and spirit continues to bring comfort and inspiration to us as I know it does for so many others. Terry and Gary Shires
Thank you for posting. Coach Cicotte was a good man, taught me to never give up and be positive. The impact he had on my life as a young man, has always carried me forward! Will miss you coach! Travis Knight
To the Cicotte clan,
Thank you for sharing him with us. I too was one of so many that benefited and grew into a man through Curt's love, guidance, discipline and leadership. He was a fabulous mentor and has given so much to so many.
Strength doesn't come from winning. Your struggles develop your strength. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength. - this quote was from Arnold Schwarzenegger, but I would have never known of it without coach C.
Coach Cicotte is one of many coaches I've had through my life but none had the impact that coach C had. One of the things I need to share is that through all the hard work I cannot remember a time that coach was ever negative. We could accomplish anything and the only limitation was us holding back. I love Coach C so much and he will be so very missed.
I believe full heartedly that he is in heaven right now doing his part awaiting the rest of us with his peace maker in his hand and holding true to always seeing the potential in us. He leaves such and awesome legacy and example on how to live and serve the people around us.
My only regret was not allowing him to see the man he helped create. He taught me so much about being human. I miss you so much!!!
With love,
Darrin H. Mitchell

Dear Jane and Family; I hope that you know that Curt helped make me into the man I am today. To this day, I remember the hard yet priceless moments he spent molding myself and other boys into men on the football field and in the "gym." I will always cherish his guidance, friendship, and moral strength. It means the world to me that I was able to spend some time with him over the past year letting him know what he meant to all of us. His strength, kindness, and integrity are traits that I emulate and I try to pass down to my own children daily. Sending you love, Mike Russo and Family

Dear Jane & Family,
Terry and I are heartbroken for you all, as well as ourselves, for the loss of Curt this past Monday. We know that Curt is and always will be in all the lives and hearts of those who had the good fortune to know him and experience his love and friendship. His legacy of kindness, caring and devotion to helping others will live on for many generations. My admiration for Curt as an athlete and an inspirational human being will never dim but only become stronger. Curt and I were able to share our lives and celebrate each others potential and achievements and love for our families and friends. A gift that I will cherish forever. Thank you my friend and rest well.
Terry & Gary Shires
