63, passed away on December 15, 2017. The daughter of Clarita V. and Manuel Garcia, Carmen was born in Tampa on June 24, 1954. She remained a lifelong resident of Tampa, attended the Academy of the Holy Names, the University of South Florida (where she earned degrees in Accounting and English) and the International Culinary Center in New York, NY. She relished in continuing her family's culinary legacy, and was committed to updating her mother's cookbook, Clarita's Cocina, a compilation of recipes from her family's restaurant Las Novedades. Carmen delighted in traveling with a passion for regular visits to New York City, visiting her relatives in Asturias, Spain, her parent's homeland, and spending summers with her children in Boca Grande, one of her favorite places. She was devoted to her family and friends always offering a helping hand, believed in the art of conversation and relished interesting discussions. Of all her accomplishments, the role she cherished the most was that of mother, and the greatest joy in her life was raising her two children Melissa and Forrest. Carmen was a member of The Junior League of Tampa, The H.B. Plant Museum Society, and the Tampa Yacht and Country Club. Carmen was pre-deceased by her parents and her husband Forrest G. Sink, and lives on in the hearts of those who survive her: husband, A.J. Grimaldi, daughter, Melissa Sink Goehring (Fabian); son, Forrest M. Sink; brother, Manuel A. Garcia (Gerry); stepsons, Andrew Grimaldi and Alexander Grimaldi; sister-in-law, Karen Grimaldi; brothers-in-law, John Grimaldi (Mark), Stephen Sink (Angie), James Sink and many special nieces and nephews. From Carmen's classmates at Academy of the Holy Names, Class of 1972: We remember her kindness, humor, elegance, intelligence and genuine friendship. In more recent years, the flan recipe from Clarita's Cocina lives on and is frequently made by one classmate. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family. We will fondly remember her always.
