Calder "Cotton" Lee Williams, Sr., 91, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 17, 2017. A Celebration of his life will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with Dr. Michael Blizzard and the Rev. John Sheeley officiating. The family will greet friends from Noon to service time at the funeral home. Flowers will be graciously accepted or donations may be made to Northridge Baptist Church, Building Fund, 2360 Gray Highway, Macon GA 31211.
Mr. Williams was born in Lumber City, Georgia to the late Chester Lee and Maude Locke Williams. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Mr. Williams served in the United States Navy during World War II. Cotton was the co-owner of M & W Motors and former owner of Lee's Flowers. Cotton was a former member of Tabernacle Baptist Church for over 50 years, where he served as an Usher, Sunday School Teacher, Deacon and a member of the Brotherhood. He was known for his Brunswick Stew at Montpelier Station Arts and Craft Festival. Cotton is a member of Northridge Baptist Church. He served as President of the Georgia Independent Automobile Dealers Association. He was a member of the 32nd degree Scottish Rite, Mabel Lodge #255 formerly Wolihin Lodge 390, and Al Shirah Shriners and Woodman of the World. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
He is survived by his loving wife of sixty eight years, Mildred Mays Williams of Macon, daughter and son-in-law, Gaye and Joseph M. Wood, Jr. of Macon, son and daughter-in-law, Calder Lee Williams Jr. and Judi of Warner Robins, grandsons, Joseph M. Wood, III, Justin Pinckney and brother, Jerry Williams of Warner Robins and several nieces and nephews.
