John Morgan Stallons, III, 77, of Belleville, IL, passed away Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017 at Evelyn's House in Creve Coeur, MO, with his loving family by his side.
John, also known as Jr., was born February 17, 1940 in Cadiz, KY. He graduated from East St. Louis High School and continued working at the 13th street Market until he got a job at Illinois Power, now Ameren, as a lineman and retired from Ameren in 2002. Jr. and his wife, Ida M. Pirtle, lived in the same East St. Louis neighborhood where they met and attended the same schools. They married when she was 18 and he 21 and celebrated 57 years of togetherness in Feb. 2107. Jr. enjoyed crossword puzzles, Sudoku, and listening to loud music. He was a fan of his son John's, B.B. Que and enjoyed an occasional margarita. He also loved his beautiful red Goldwing motorcycle and recently fulfilled a life's dream by purchasing a purple Plymouth Prowler, which was his pride and joy.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Nina Estelle, nee Dunning and John M. Stallons, II, a brother, Howard Stallons; a nephew, Edward Stallons; and a niece, Sara Stallons.
In addition to his loving wife, Ida, he is survived by three sons, John M. Stallons, IV, Matthew L. (Kathy) Stallons, and Paul A. (Deni) Stallons. He was a proud grandfather to John "Jay" M. V, Alyssa (Ali), Mitchell, Garrett, Madison, Jack, and Landon; a sister, Martha (Ralph) Logan; and two brothers, Noble (Melba) Stallons and Larry Stallons; a sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law, fay and Bruce Harper and James R. Pirtle; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017 at Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N. Illinois, Fairview Heights, IL.
Funeral: Services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, Dec. 22, 2017 at Lake View Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Judy Stallons and Rev. Mike Stallons co-officiating. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens.

I worked with John at Ameren for a long time and he was one of best men I ever knew and always ready with a funny comment. He was a very kind person and often spoke of his family. I will miss him very much even though I have not seen him in a while. God bless all of you.
