Steven Wayne Broussard, age 63, of Ragley, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at a local hospital with his loving wife by his side. He was born on September 18, 1954 in Lafayette, La where he lived until moving to Ragley in the 6th grade.
Steven worked for many years on a local farm while raising his family. He had a love for woodworking, and making items out of wood like trucks and toys for his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother who will be greatly missed.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 38 years, Connie Broussard of Ragley; three sons, Joseph Broussard and wife, Chasadie of Moss Bluff, Jonathan Broussard and Maggie of Lake Charles, and Gerald Broussard and Emily of Ragley; four grandchildren, Dathon, Sydni, Savannah, and Charlotte; mother, Hilda Broussard of Ragley; three sisters, Bonnie Simon and husband, David of Rayne, Cheryl Broussard of Ragley, Peggy Fontenot and husband, Keith of Rayne; a brother, Patrick Broussard of Baton Rouge; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Broussard, brother, Gerald Broussard, and brother, James Broussard.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff. Celebrant Jody Barrilleaux will lead services. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, from 10a.m. until the time of service all at the funeral home. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com
