Wearden, Mary Isabelle Toups entered into everlasting life on December 17, 2017, after passing peacefully at her home with family members by her side. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and friend. "Mary Belle" was born on April 3, 1926 to George and Margaret Toups in Beaumont, Texas. She had two brothers, John and George Jr. She attended St Anthony Catholic School where she was a member of the Drum & Bugle Corp.
A scholarship from Lamar Business College led her to a job at Sun Oil Company, where she met her future husband, an IBM technology specialist, Paul Wearden. In 1951 they began their 64 year marriage that blessed them with six children, twelve grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Mary devoted 30 years raising their six children. She was the ultimate mother; volunteering at St. Paul school, and sponsoring Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts.
As a seamstress for her children, there seemed to be nothing that Mary could not design and sew.
After his retirement from Sun Oil Company, Paul and Mary launched their own computer consulting company. They also traveled throughout America, Europe, and the Holy Lands. In 2003, Paul and Mary became vested members of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem.
Mary Wearden is survived by six children Margaret Ann Raidt, Paul & Melissa Wearden, Larry & Regina Wearden, Frances Evans, Marie and Mike Wininger, and Linda Coons. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren: Garret & Grace, Kiley, Delaney, Andy and Lucas Wearden; Savannah & Bill Stroupe, Gabby and Zack Evans, Michelle & Tyler Simmons, Rachael Wininger, Jonathan and Rhodes Coons, and great-granddaughter, Nova Wearden. She is also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, John Toups, her husband, Paul Wearden, daughter-in-law, Terry Wearden, and son-in-law Beley Raidt.
Mary Wearden was a role model of love and self-sacrifice. She will be greatly missed, but her life lessons of faith and family will never be forgotten.
A Rosary, followed by visitation, for Mary Wearden will be held at 6:00 pm. Wednesday, December 20, at Sparkman Funeral Home 1029 S. Greenville, Richardson, TX. 75081. A Funeral Mass for Mary will be said at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Richardson on Thursday, December 21, at 11:00 am with Rev. David Flori, Celebrant. Following the Mass, there will be a reception, and then interment at 2:00 at the Sacred Heart Cemetery, 3900 Rowlett Rd, Rowlett, TX. 75088.
One of Mary's favorite songs to play on the piano was, "The more we get together, the happier we'll be." That was the motto for her life! A person of compassion, love, beauty, and faith, "Mary Belle" will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her life lessons will never be forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Mary Wearden's name to Alzheimer's Association, 3001 Knox St. Suite 200, Dallas, TX 75205-4027.

I was thinking of Mrs. Wearden's passing this week. Sad is it is, it was doubly so coming at Christmas. She was such a great neighborhood Mom. One heck of a cook and her Red Velvet cake was a thing of beauty

Mrs Wearden was a great mom and kind to all the neighborhood kids. I've known her since I was 12. A great cook, she always made us feel welcome in her home. Its been my great privilege to hold the Wearden family in my heart for many years.
Sincere condolences to the family-tough to lose a mom at Christmas time.
