Greensboro- Hazel McCarty Allen, 100, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at her residence.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 11:00 am at Cornerstone Baptist Church with Dr. Rick Byrd and Rev. Jay Love officiating. Interment will follow at Westminster Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Allen was born in Homer, LA to the late James and Martha Smitherman McCarty. She was a Charter member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and was a Sunday School teacher. She loved reading and music.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, G. Donald Allen; her parents; four brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Allen is survived by her daughters, Nancy Allen Davis and husband Jerry of Greensboro, Fran Allen Moseley and husband Jim of Charlotte, and Linda Allen Turner and husband Fred of Smiths Station, AL; grandchildren, Scott Fairbairn, David Fairbairn, Don Moseley, Erin Moseley Knight, Brian Moseley and Justin Davis; and nine great grandchildren.
