Daniel Willard Bay, 76, of Nacogdoches, Texas moved into the presence of the Lord Jesus on December 22, 2017 in Nacogdoches, Texas.
Danny was a born again believer, with belief in Jesus Christ as his Savior. He was a member of Grace Bible Church and served as a deacon and usher. His faith was very important to him, including daily quiet times, and he continually prayed for others to receive salvation. His faith is now sight. "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants." Psalm 116:15
Danny was born April 30, 1941 in Nacogdoches, Texas to James Willard and Elsie Bay. He was a 1959 graduate of Nacogdoches High School where he played trumpet in the Nacogdoches High School Band. After graduation, Danny was employed by The Hartford as an insurance adjuster for 29 years rising to the level of senior claims representative before his retirement. Following retirement, he worked with A1 Self Storage, Mize Department Store and Enterprise Car Rentals.
As an active member of the Nacogdoches Rotary Club, Danny served as president, director, leader of flag postings, and was the recipient of multiple Paul Harris Fellows. Danny was also an avid golfer and spent time caddying, playing golf and working at Piney Woods Country Club. He even made it into the Hole-In-One Club at Woodland Hills. Additionally, Danny continued his love of music by playing his trumpet in the Nacogdoches Community Band. He served his country in the Air Force Reserves for seven years, first stationed at Barksdale and later in Houston.
On September 15, 1979, Danny married Gloria Primeaux and the two were blessed with 38 years of marriage. They have one daughter, Adrienne Bay. Danny is survived by his wife Gloria, daughter Adrienne, and his brother, Mike Bay. He was preceded in death by his parents Willard and Elsie Bay.
