Paterno Miciano Doreza, 94 went to his eternal heavenly home on December 13, 2017, Wednesday. He was born to the late Benito and Emilia Doreza, September 23,1923, in Iloilo, Philippines. He married Manuela Roxas Doreza in 1950, and they lived in Michigan since 1973, before relocating to Burbank, CA in 2010.
Paterno is survived by his wife Manuela Doreza and three children: Elena Szilvagyi and husband David, of Burbank, CA; Arturo Doreza and wife Carmela, of West Bloomfield, MI; and Gregory Doreza and wife Wendy, of Orion, MI. He also is survived by six grandchildren: Michelle Klimek, Christine Szilvagyi, Jennifer Dionne, Jonathan Szilvagyi, James Patrick Doreza, Catherine Doreza; and two great-grandchildren: Harrison and Frances Klimek. Preceded in death by his son Cesar Doreza.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations received will assist the family with the memorial expenses and will go to Paterno's favorite charity - The Wounded Warrior Project by logging-in to: www.youcaring.com/Doreza
A viewing will be held at the Valley Funeral Home on Friday, Dec. 29th, 2017 from 4:00 pm- 8:00 pm. 2121 W. Burbank Blvd., Burbank, CA 91506. The memorial service will be held on Saturday. Dec 30th, 2017 at 10:00 am. 2010 W. Olive Ave., Burbank, CA 91506. Reception to follow at Cabrini Villas Club House 9600 Cabrini Drive, Burbank, CA 91504, near Hollywood Way off of Glenoaks Blvd.
