Ron Otis Christison
On Wednesday December 13, 2017, Ron Otis Christison passed from this life at a Salt Lake City hospital, with his mother and wife by his side, of complications from liver disease.
He had spent his last two years living in Belize, a small country on the eastern coast of Central America until his wife, Tami, brought him back to Utah to seek medical attention.
Ron was preceded in death by his father, Ted Otis Christison, niece, Rachel Christison and survived by his wife, Tami, his mother, Ronda Christison, his step-son, Ricky Okelberry (Sarah), step grandchildren, Riki and LuCee, his sister, Cindy Wharff (David), brother, Brent Christison (Ilene), eight nieces and nephews and many friends in both Belize and Utah.
Ron made many friends because of his cheerful personality and a willingness to always help others. He was born with a special mechanical ability which served him and others his entire life. That ability provided his employment with the State of Utah where he worked in the motor vehicle fleet for 30 years, retiring in December 2013.
A few years after retirement he was able to live his dream of moving to Belize full-time, a country he became familiar with after visiting it while on a cruise. He had hoped to return there when he recovered from his illness, but sadly he was not able to
.
Ron wanted his remains cremated. A gathering to celebrate his life will be held soon in Belize and Salt Lake City after the New Year.
Ron, you will be sorely missed.
