Wayne Luther Comer, 65, a resident of Shenandoah, died December 21, 2017 at Sentara-RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg.

A son of the late Elwood Martin, Sr. and Margaret Croft Comer, he was born on March 5, 1952 in Luray. He graduated from Luray High School and was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Shenandoah. He was a lifelong resident of Luray and Shenandoah.

Wayne was the owner and operator of Waynes, Inc. for 18 years. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy Fan and a very generous individual to the Shenandoah community.

On July 22, 2000, he married Rebecca Good Comer who survives. Also surviving are two stepsons, Joey Brill and wife Judy of Elkton, and Paul Davis and wife Crystal of Elkton; stepdaughter, Jamie Shifflett and husband John of Shenandoah; step-grandchildren, Justin Shifflett, Zachary Brill, Jacob Shifflett, Alex Davis, Kaiden Davis, Koltyn Davis and Brittany Miller; brother, James Comer and Marilyn, of Mississippi; two sisters, Bonnie Owens and husband Roger of Luray, and Betty Burrill and husband Michael of Luray; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Elwood Martin Comer, Jr. and sister, Sharon Jenkins.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Christ United Church Fellowship Hall.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Christ United Methodist Church with Pastor Johnathon Lamb and Pastor Stephen Creech officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Community Cemetery in Shenandoah.
