Douglas Edson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 23, 2017.

Douglas H. Edson, 52, of 54 Russell St. Keene, passed away surrounded by his family on December 22, 2017 at Jack Byrne Center Dartmouth Hitchcock after a brief illness.

He was born May 11, 1965 in Concord, NH, the son of Shirley A. (Watterson) and Walter A. Edson Sr. He attended schools and spent time in Laconia, NH before joining L&L amusements where he worked alongside a group of friends called "The Six Pack". While in Keene Doug met and married the love of his life Dorothy (Brown) Edson.

Doug was a hard worker. He worked 15 years at Arthur Whitcomb before getting his dream job as a heavy equipment operator and received many accomplishments and certificates in this field that took him throughout NH.

Doug enjoyed snowmobiling with his best friend Al Bielunis and the crew, but there was nothing that compared to the time he spent with family.

Doug will be greatly missed by his loving wife: Dorothy; "the Boys" Douglas Edson and Dejay Edson; daughter: Darcy (Edson) Raleigh and her husband Patrick of Keene; granddaughter Lydia Raleigh; father: Walter Edson of Canaan; brothers: Richard Edson of Concord and Walter Edson Jr. of Belmont; mother-in-law: Joan Redfield of Keene; father-in-law John J. Brown of Florida and numerous friends.

He is predeceased this year 2017 by his mother: Shirley Edson; brother: John Edson; brother-in-law: Earl Redfield and previous years' brother-in-law Chris Redfield.

There has been no ceremony or services planned at this time.

Memorial contributions may be made to Douglas Edson Children's Fund at the Savings Bank of Walpole.
