Milo was a friend and neighbor for a number of years; actually, Nova, his wife, and I were better acquainted. They were both exceptional people... very very intelligent, well-versed, cultured, compassionate, neighborly, and very caring with each other. Can't say enough good things about Milo and Nova. We talked on the phone occasionally after they moved to Texas during the winters, but we were never able to get together for one reason or another. Rest in peace, dear man...

Milo was a unique and interesting man whether he was in NYC or on his Ford 8N Tractor mowing his fields and meadow wearing his straw hat and smoking a good cigar. We miss him terribly and those summer afternoon and evenings on Milo and Nova's front porch, sipping a new wine that Milo discovered or a good 12 yr old Scotch. Sometimes other neighbors joined us. Milo was a wealth of information on local and world history. May you rest in peace dear friend!

I worked with Mr. Dowden for many years designing his scientific journals and Civil War Book. He was truly a gentleman and I'm so sorry to hear of his passing.
