Keith Michael Bruce, age 54, of Doswell, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2017. He was always fun to spend time with and knew how to bring people together with jokes and laughter in a way that nobody else could. Keith loved growing fruits, vegetables, and flowers and would use any excuse to do work on his tractor. Keith often helped people in need within the community without ever saying a word or looking for recognition. He was a member of Ashland Church of God and volunteered in the church van ministry to provide transportation for children, as well as helping with the Royal Rangers program to mentor future men. Keith coached local youth basketball teams and was a role model to many of his players. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Glenda Burcham Bruce; children, Ashley Michaela Bruce, Michael Ashton Bruce, and Christopher David Bruce; mother, Edith Irene Bruce; siblings, Diane Atkins, Judy Naumann (Sonny), Harold Bruce (Donna), and Michelle Pasowicz (Paul); as well as many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, at Ashland Church of God, 407 Myrtle St., Ashland, Va. 23005, with a visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow in Signal Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ashland Church of God or Ashland Christian Emergency Service (A.C.E.S.).
