Landon Terry Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 24, 2017.

Landon Douglas Terry, 38, of Lubbock, Texas, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Friday, December 22, 2017

Landon had a passion for sports, especially baseball. He played baseball at Millard South and Millard West High School in Omaha, Nebraska. He also played baseball, basketball and football at Waukee High School in Waukee, Iowa. Landon continued on to play four years of baseball at Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas.

Landon pursued a career in pharmaceutical sales.

Landon was an awesome father of 3 boys. Caden, Colten, and Cannon were the loves of his life. Landon passed on his passion for baseball to his boys. He loved coaching their little league teams, taking them to the College World Series, and road trips to see the Texas Rangers play. There was always a hunting or fishing trip being planned with his boys.

Through all of the Landon's endeavors from high school and college athletics, to his professional career, to his children, he has met so many amazing, loving and generous people.

Landon was preceded in death by his grandparents L.L. and Inez Terry and his Uncle Stan Hash.
Landon leaves behind his 3 sons Caden, Colten, and Cannon, his parents Lenis and Rhonda Terry, his grandparents Merle and Mona Monroe, his sister Lendy Long, nieces Caitlyn, Cyla and Olivia, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A visitation will be from 6-8pm on Wednesday 12-27-2017. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the GoFund me account that has been established for Landon's boys.

Online condolences may be offered on our website at www.resthavenfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are under the personal care of Resthaven Funeral Home & Memorial Park, Lubbock, TX.

My deepest sympathies to all who loved Landon, I met Landon a few years ago and fell in love instantly. Anyone who knew him, loved him. We had a mutual love and passion for baseball, we both coached our sons and loved exchanging stories, pics, videos about the games. Caden, Colten and Cannon...it took me a while to get y'alls names straight but I finally did... you're all he talked about. Words fail me because I shouldn't even be writing this... I was coming to see you and we were both so excited... my heart will forever be broken, I will never forget you, I loved and will always love you dearly.

Landon was a high school friend, classmate, and basketball teammate. I probably interacted with him the most while playing basketball. I've racked my brain for an anecdote to share, but failed. Games and practices are all a blur this many years down the road. The one thing that stands out was how good natured he was about all of it, and how positive he was. There were more losses than victories and plenty of opportunities to be negative, but that's not who Landon was. I can remember him walking into the gym one day before practice with a spring in his step, singing some pop song that was happened to be on the radio back then (to the delight of his teammates). I can't even remember the song, but that cheerfulness has stuck with me all these years. My sincerest condolences.

Landon was a close friend in high school. We shared a lot of good times and laughs together. He was always so fun to be around and I look back fondly on those simpler times. We lost touch over the years but it was so nice to reconnect with him online the past year. He didn't change much - happy, optimistic and well liked by many. It was clear his absolute love for his boys! Praying for his family and loved ones.

Landon's smile would always make you smile. I pray his three sons will learn about their loving dad through the decent men like me that knew and respected Landon. I helped coach Landon in high school and Landon worked for me at GreenSpace LLC, landscaping during his senior Year in Waukee, Iowa. He came back and worked whenever baseball was not keeping him busy. He would work all day in the heat and then go to the gym and get his real workout in. If his boys ever need anything in life please contact me. Landon is resting with God's Grace and smiling down on all of us. Respectfully, Lieutenant Colonel Marcus Smoot, USA.

To the family of Landon Terry, I loved your son. Starting with Wayland Baseball, groomsman of our wedding to the birth of those 3 precious boys. I admired him so much for his never ending strength to "keep going" with that endearing and contagious smile of his. My heart hurts for you and your loss. It's the loss for so many. May God hold you, give you strength and heal the hurt with His never ending love.
