Phyllis June Baker Edens of Wilmington, NC passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017, at her home.
She was the widow of Philip Ray Edens. Phyllis was born March 14, 1941 to the late Colonel and Mrs. William O. Baker, US Army deceased. After World War II her father returned to the states for a short time before being reassigned back to Germany! Phyllis her sister Jo Ann, and her mother then followed her father back to Germany twice and several stateside assignments and living in Detroit, MI, Beaumont, TX, San Bernardino, CA, and finally to Fort Knox, KY where she graduated from high school in 1959. For a year she attended South Dakota State College and then returned to the Wilmington, NC area to study medical/laboratory careers and graduated from Wilmington College. Phyllis was hired by Cape Fear Memorial Hospital and eventually made head of the laboratory, she worked in the laboratory for 20 years and then retired.
She is survived by her two sons Philip Alan Edens, Jeffrey Wayne Edens; sister Jo Ann Galloway Cooper; niece Sheryl Eamma; nephew Steven Galloway; grand-nieces; Ashley Eamma, Kaylee Galloway, Meghan Eamma, and grand-nephew Parker Galloway.
