BARHAM, Kelsey Virginia, died December 21, 2017. Our beautiful 23-year-old Kelsey was taken from us too soon. She was, however, able to donate her organs and give five people a wonderful gift. LifeNet enabled these donations to happen. Kelsey was always stepping in to help friends and strangers. She will continue helping strangers even after she is gone. She sustained a traumatic brain injury in July 2012. That made the last five-and-a-half years frustrating and very difficult for her. She was starting to take some big steps toward healing when her time was cut short. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Read and Bette Morton and Paige Barham and Bill Barham. She is survived by her parents, Mark and Liz Barham; brother, John (Troy) Barham; uncle, George McCray; cousins, Cowles and Read McCray; and boyfriend, Tyler Vasser. She had a large extended family and an even larger group of friends. Once you had met her, you didn't remain a stranger for long. Visitation will be December 27, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Woody Funeral Home on Parham. Her burial will be private. Kelsey's memorial service will be December 28 at 3 p.m. It will be held at The Gayton Kirk Presbyterian Church that is at 11421 Gayton Rd., Henrico, Va. 23238. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the LifeNet Health Foundation.
