I was never around Julio that much, but there are a couple memories I have of him.
One memory I can remember was when we went on a Legoland field trip in middle school, with his mother being a chaperone of our group. That trip was one of the very few good trips I ever had. Another one was a presentation for our magnet programs at our previous middle school. We walked there, having to fight the rain to get there, and I helped him carry the drone he was to fly at that presentation, walking under an umbrella held by a teacher coming along with us.
When I heard the announcements this morning at school, I was left curious. "Who was it that died?" I wondered. Then the answer came to me earlier today. I literally gasped when our teacher pulled up his picture and told us that it was Julio that died in the accident. I couldn't believe it was him. He was a very smart kid, he would have had such a great life with the skills he had in him.

I just picture you when we where at the games and I told you hit slowly and measure the game and you would smile at me.. We only have known you for a short time, but we enjoyed your smiling face and the stories you would tell us when we were out on the dock at the trailer park. We pray that your dear parents and family get through this sad time by knowing you are now safe in God's hands until they see you again.
With our deepest sympathy,
Jim and Jean [friends of Mark and Teresa Carpenter]

Don't think of him as gone away
his journey's just begun,
life holds so many facets
this earth is only one.
Just think of him as resting
from the sorrows and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years.
Think how he must be wishing
that we could know today
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away.
And think of him as living
in the hearts of those he touched...
for nothing loved is ever lost
and he was loved so much.

You had yet to be born the last time I visited your family. If you turned out like your father and uncle, I am sure that you gave them sixteen years of love and happiness. Rest easy, my cousin. Your memory will live on in our hearts.
