Beverly Hockett Naylor 1926 – 2017
Beverly Hockett Naylor passed away peacefully December 23, 2017 at age 91. She was born June 30, 1926, in Sioux City, Iowa to Earl Arthur Hockett and Sue Jensen Hockett. Beverly married Larry Naylor on August 1, 1947. They had one daughter, Shaunna Croft Platt.
Beverly graduated from West High and worked at Commercial Credit for 17 years. She participated in the Lady Elks and Friends Unlimited. Beverly enjoyed doing puzzles, bowling, and having lunch with her many friends at Lumpy's. She will be fondly remembered for her youthful spirit, generosity, and her love of owls and dogs of all kinds, but especially Miniature Pinschers.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Jennifer Croft Anderson (Mark), grandson Jacob Croft (Nicole), great-grandchildren Emmaly and Mariel Anderson and Cassady and Aidan Croft, sister-in-law Elaine Naylor, nephews Ron Schoof and Dr. Brad Naylor, and niece Tonya Naylor Nielsen. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Larry, daughter Shaunna, siblings Donald Hockett and Alice Alvey and brother-in-law Conrad. The family takes great comfort that they are all together again.
The family wishes to express their deep appreciation for the compassionate care of the staff at Community Nursing Service and Silverado.
Graveside Services will be Wednesday, January 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 Highland Dr., Salt Lake City, Utah. A viewing will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in her name to the Humane Society of Utah.
