Memorial service will be held Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in San Jacinto Church of Christ, 823 South Mississippi Street. Fred was born June 6, 1925, in Sistersville, West Virginia to Fred and Lillian Ingram. He grew up in Parkersburg, West Virginia, living there until enlisting in the United States Navy. Fred attended Abilene Christian University in 1948, where he met Thelma Short. They were married on October 21, 1949. Fred worked hard to provide for his family and held various positions of employment, including bookkeeping and as a credit/collections manager. After retiring, Fred and Thelma enjoyed taking many trips in their R.V. Fred sold R.V.'s before becoming a shuttle driver for auto dealerships. He continued his driving until Thelma had a stroke in August of 2015. At that time he became Thelma's full-time caregiver. Fred diligently and faithfully took care of Thelma until his own health began to decline. He loved and prayed daily for his family. Some of his last words were, "I love all my family". Fred will certainly be missed by his church family at San Jacinto! He was always in attendance, perhaps leading singing or leading prayers. He was very diligent in checking on the sick and perhaps visiting them. We send our sympathy to you, Thelma and all your sweet family. We send our love to you. James and Lynn Duncan
