Bill Farris met Jesus face to face on December 28th, 2017 and fulfilled his lifelong quest. He was a man who wore many hats. He was a machinist, an officer manager, a CPA, a pastor, a husband, a daddy and a Papa. Each of these he wore well. His passion in life was to love people and point them to Jesus; " walking in the Jesus lane" he called it. His loves were Jesus, family, friends and Auburn. In the first five minutes of meeting Bill Farris, three things happened...first, he knew your life story; second, you knew his; and finally, but most importantly, you had heard the name of Jesus. We are so grateful that he is healed, but here on earth he will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
Mr. Farris is preceded in death by his parents, Ott C. Farris, Sr. and Wilhemenia Farris; and brother, Ott C. Farris, Jr.. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Hollis Farris; children, William Clayton Farris (Stacy), David Farris (Brittany) and CC Shuttlesworth (Nathan); sister, Rachel Farris Rock; and grandchildren, Nora, Caleb, Emma, Mark, Sadie, Slade, Glory, Ellie and Cannon. Also left to cherish his memory are several nieces and nephews, and multitudes of other friends and loved ones.
The celebration of Bill's life will begin with a visitation from 5pm until 8pm on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham. The funeral will be on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at 5pm, also at the funeral home, officiated by Dr. Wayne Van Horn. Bill will be laid to rest at 9:30am on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bill's memory may be made to either the Food Bank at Green Valley Baptist Church or to Gideons International.

Bill Farris Family
I know where Bill Farris is today. It was a lot of years ago I met Bill Farris at Westwood Baptist. I have not seen Bill in 15 years. However, I have not forgotten this man of God. Well done, Bill
Your brother in Christ.
