Frank Robinson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 29, 2017.

Frank H. Robinson, Jr., a retired mill representative in the aluminum industry, passed away on December 24, 2017 after a brief illness while visiting family in Baltimore Maryland.

He was 85.

He was the son of Frank H. Robinson, a city fire department engineer, and Ruby Patterson Robertson, a homemaker and seamstress, and was born in Richmond, Virginia in 1932.

After graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1950, he entered Randolph Macon College in Ashland, Virginia, where he was a noted football player and president of his senior class.

Following graduation, he was commissioned as a naval officer and became the signal officer on the aircraft carrier USS Coral Sea. After his naval service, he joined Reynolds Metals company and managed accounts in Louisville, Philadelphia, and Baltimore for 37 years. Mr. Robinson married the former Mary Wedemeyer in 1954 and they resided in the Towson Maryland area for 50 years before moving to Florida. After Mary's death in 2014, he found love again with his fiancé, Nancy Schnepfe.

He was an active member of the Masonic fraternity, and was a 58 year member of Metropolitan Lodge #11 in Richmond, as well the Scottish Rite and Boumi Shriners. He also held memberships in the Sons of the American Revolution, Royal Order of Jesters, American Legion, and the Sons of Confederate Veterans. Frank was extremely proud of his affiliation with his fraternal groups.

Mr. Robinson was a long time member of Saint Thomas Episcopal Church in Towson Maryland, and in recent years attended holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Fruitlyn Park Florida.

Frank is survived by two daughters, Mary Beth Robinson of Baltimore, Susan Ann Huger of Lexington, Virginia, as well as four grandchildren, Shannon Huger, Sara Hall, Gray Huger, Hope Huger and one great-granddaughter, Ava Huger. He also leaves behind a sister, Carolyn Land of a Richmond, VA.

Frank was a wonderful father and grandad, and will always be remembered for his love for life, laughs, storytelling, and fun.
