Ethel Geneva Ritter, 86, of Rockford passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2017. Born June 6, 1931 in Relief, NC. Daughter of Robert and Hassie Bryant. United in marriage to Robert E. Ritter on October 1, 1955. He predeceased her on November 8, 1996. Ethel worked for several years as a Quality Inspector for J.L. Clark until her retirement. After retirement she worked for the Salvation Army Store in many aspects from organizing the store to decorating the windows. She found great enjoyment in her flower gardens, reading the Bible and keeping up with everyday life with phone conversations. Her greatest enjoyment came from her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters, Carol (Russ) Winters, Kathy (Rick) Paulsen; grandchildren, Amy (Jared) Ruper, Jason (Sara) Winters, Bethany Paulsen, Jeremy (Tiffany) Paulsen, Aaron Myers, Kristen Myers, Cletus McCormick, Cody Villani, Marissa Villani, Katie Ritter, Robert Ritter; great-grandchildren, Reed, Riley, Rory, Ryder and Rylan Ruper, Liam, Charlotte and Kayleigh Winters, Leilani and Payton Paulsen; son-in-law, Tony Villani; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; husband, Robert; children, Nancy Myers, Roberta Villani, Edward Ritter; siblings, Zula, Ruth, Obed, Boyd, Homer. Special Thanks to all the staff and her friends at Wesley Willows for their loving care.

I was Ethel supervisor or several. She was always kind and caring to all. Even though her life was difficult sometimes with illness of Bob and death of her children she never lose her kind and caring nature. She was an angel on earth and I know now she is one in heaven. God bless her family at this difficult time. Keep her memories in your heart and she will always be with you.

Ethel was a wonderful, kind & loving woman.My husband worked with her at J.L.Clarks & I worked with her at the Salvation Army store.She was always happy & sweet to everyone.The world has lost a great person.I am sure she is up in heaven hugging all those that have gone before her.Ethel will be missed. My love & prayers to her wonderful family. I am sick & taking meds so I am not able to be at the funeral.So sorry for your loss.

We are so sorry to hear about the passing of Ethel. We enjoyed our visits and reading from the Bible with her while she lived across the street from us.
