Matt Ingraffia, age 27, of Houston, TX, beloved husband of Ryan Ann Peterson Ingraffia, died suddenly on Friday, December 29, 2017 in Canton, GA. In addition to his loving wife Ryan and adored puppy, Daisy, Matt is survived by his mother Brenda Ingraffia Burcaw of Houston, TX, Mother and Father-in-law Sally and Scott Peterson of Canton, GA, brothers-in-law Alex and Eric Peterson, step siblings, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Matt was born on April 23, 1990 to Brenda Joyce Binkholder Ingraffia and Michael Haynes Ingraffia. He is preceded in death by his father, Maternal grandparents Ervin and Norma Binkholder and Paternal grandparents Mike and Arlene Ingraffia. Matt attended Roswell Public Schools, Riverside Military Academy, Southern Polytechnic State University, and the University of Houston.
Matt and Ryan had recently relocated to Houston, so Matt could fulfill his dream of becoming a Meteorologist. At the time of his death he was a student at the University of Houston studying Earth and Atmospheric Sciences. Matt had a life long passion for weather and had wanted to "chase storms" since the age of five. As the world watched in fear for all residents of Houston, TX with Hurricane Harvey approaching, Matt was outside watching with unbridled excitement of seeing an unprecedented weather event. Matt and Ryan had found their spiritual home with Bayou City Fellowship in Houston where they made wonderful friends in their young married small group.
Matt had the distinction of Eagle Scout and loved scouting, the outdoors, swimming, golfing, travel, and supporting Atlanta sports teams. He was passionate about music and attended countless concerts. Most of all, he longed to spend time with friends and family. Matt was a kind and caring soul with many who loved him dearly. Matt never knew a stranger and never had an unkind word to say about anyone. He soars above us now, with his dad, watching over us and keeping us in his loving embrace.

I couldn't find any of the right words yesterday. It was so hard for me to speak, because I was fighting back tears. Matt was such a great friend and with that I hope to let go of the grief and remember his joyfulness, love of music and new experiences. I pray for healing for all of us and especially for Ryan and Brenda.

I'm very sorry for your loss Ryan, Brenda and family. I met Matt through Voya when he worked on our team for roughly 5 years. We became good friends outside of the office and loved playing golf together. Erin and I really loved Matt and was proud to watch him mature into the man he had become. He will be missed by so many people. May God bless you all.

Matt was one of those unforgettable young men that I was so blessed to coach and be a part of their formative teenage years at Riverside. Matt led our state championship swim team through his leadership by demonstrating to his team mates that success only comes from hard work, dedication and perseverance. I could always depend on Matt to be the role model I needed in a team captain, his teammates loved him, idolized him and most of all, and respected him. Matt will always be special to the RMA Swimming program, and always a special young man to me. God Bless Matt & the Ingraffia family.

Matt:
You will be missed greatly, although I knew you for a very short time, I never forget your smiley face.
I believe that when we have perfected our souls and have reached our purpose in this earthly life is when God calls us back home.
Until we meet again rest in perfect peace.
May God bless your soul and sustain all your family and friends in this hard time.
