Rosalind Belle Ackerman, 70, of Vernon, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2018 with her loving family by her side. She was born on August 31, 1947 in Hartford, a daughter of the late Dean Herman and Mildred (Winans) Grove. She was the wife of the late Edwin Vincent Ackerman Jr.
Rosalind was employed by Pratt & Whitney and retired from Mustangs Unlimited. She also moonlighted at Toys-R-Us and Walmart to provide additional income for her family.
She enjoyed trips to Las Vegas, the Casino, playing Bingo, knitting, and spending time with her cherished great granddaughters.
She was an amazing woman who deeply loved and cared for her family. She was a dedicated mother making sure her children were always well-provided for. Her huge heart loved everyone; she was a mother to many of her children's friends when needed. Her giving spirit would knit hats and scarves that she donated to the Salvation Army and the local clothing bank. Her absence will be greatly missed by all the lives she touched.
Rosalind is survived by her daughters, Alicia A. Ackerman and her significant other Elverne Harmsen Jr. of Vernon, Kimberly J. Ackerman and her significant other Keith Harris of Vernon/Canton, grandchildren Joseph and Joshua Minor, great granddaughters Summerlyn Marie Lambert and Allyana Filiault-Minor, brother-in-law George Letendre, step-sister Judith Landers, many nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends Cloretta, Marsha, Eddie and Judy, her loving dog companion, Delgodo, and her cat Jake.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her sister Suellen Letendre.

I have fond memories of cousin Rosalind. When we were kids, we both went to summer camp together for two weeks. We bonded together that year. When we were teenagers, I spent time at her house during the summer. We would walk to the bowling alley down the road, the local hangout. The bowling alley has since been torn down, but if I happen to go that way, I always look over at the empty lot remembering the good times. Rosalind you will be missed by all of us❤
