Funeral service for Geneva Evelyn Dunn Burns, 81, will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Philip Caples officiating. Burial will follow in the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Memorial Funeral Home.
Geneva Evelyn Dunn Burns, "Nana", 81, went to be with her heavenly father on December 31, 2017 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was born on July 12, 1936 to the late Arvid and Alice Dunn. She was a much loved mother, grandmother, and sister. She was baptized and raised her family in Tuscumbia Baptist Church and later joined Shiloh Baptist Church. She loved traveling all over the United States with her family. She enjoyed sewing, reading and gardening, but most of all she loved being with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert R. Burns; sister, Maxine Merrell and a brother Henry Dunn.
She is survived by her five daughters, Susan Hill (Joe), Barbara O'Finan, Cathy Mercer, Maria Shipman (Tracy) and Lisa Jones (Chuck); grandchildren, Gavin, Sean, Kyle, Daniel, Blake, Kaydee, Andrew, Levi and Brittany, (Pete); sisters, Bonnie Joyce Duquette, Lucille Wallace and a brother, Robert Dunn.
