1935
2017
On 4/5/1935 a circle of life began. A beautiful child named Irene was born to Jesus&Adela Zavala in Presidio, Texas. Her mother along with her 7 siblings went from rancho to rancho and settled in Isleta. She met, fell in love and on 1/2/1955 married her soulmate Antonio. Throughout dad's 20 years in the Air Force they raised 3 daughters, Elena, Mary Hilda and Terry. Mom was loving, endearing, gentle and devoted to everyone, every day of her life. As we married Louie Weir, Daniel Davila and Frank Medrano their grandchildren followed Frank, Maricela, Anita, Marivel, Veronica and April Monique. Mom couldn't have loved each one of them more. One might say she loved them more than us. Mom didn't realize she had more love to give until her great-grandchildren Genesis, Evan, Neveah, Devin, Kevin, Delilah, Antonio Jesus, Paris, Cylus and Kenny came along. She also had many godchildren. Mom was funny and silly. She even named our vehicles El Chicano and La Papa to name a few. Mom enjoyed her coffee on a rainy day, laughed at herself, fed the birds and could start a conversation with anyone in a grocery line. Found beauty in flowers and Thomas Kincaid paintings. Alzheimer stole her from us but it can't take away our memories. We would ask, "Mom, where did you go?" We find comfort in knowing she is with God and our Dad. Her circle of life was completed on 12/30/2017. When she took God's hand she was surrounded by family and received by family. We know she took our love with her. Special thanks to Ofie and Bertha from Hospice who cared for mom so lovingly.
