MORRIS, Thelma Easter "Sis", 89, of Midlothian, born September 11, 1928, went to heaven on Tuesday, January 2, 2018. She was predeceased by parents, Minnie and Joe Easter, brothers Corbin, Rupert, and Donald Easter. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Wesley Ollin Morris, brother Jack Easter, children Susan Sexton (Mike), Robyn Underwood (Jeff), Betsy Kaltsounis (Robert), and Ned Morris (Rosemary). She is also survived by grandchildren Haley Hensley (Mikie), Corie Miller ( Joshua), Leann Mazur (Ed), Kari Meyer (Jeff), Field Sexton, Wes Underwood (Lannie), Sterling Morris, Kendall Caskie, Max Caskie, Robyn Morris, Billy Kaltsounis, and two great grandchildren, Gordon Meyer, and Ian Miller.
Thelma was born in Amelia County and worked at the Federal Reserve in Richmond until becoming bookkeeper for the family business. She raised her children in Epworth Methodist Church in Amelia and, in more recent years, has been a member of Mt. Pisgah Methodist. Thelma and Ollin are beloved members of the Fellowship Sunday School Class there.
Thelma navigated as they travelled all over the US and outside the country with their Avion trailer. They spent many winters in Florida at Avion Palms where she served on the board multiple times. Thelma was active as a volunteer in Chesterfield County schools, Midlothian Library and church activities. The family will receive visitors at Woody Funeral Home on Huguenot Road, Friday 5 to 7 pm. The service will be on Saturday at 2pm at Mt. Pisgah in Midlothian followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Children's Hospital of Richmond.
