Richard Leo Ball, Jr. passed away on December 30, 2018, due to complications from dementia. He was born in New Orleans on June 1, 1937. He was a native of New Orleans, a resident of old Jefferson for 35 years; and was a parishioner of St. Agnes Catholic Church. He was the son of the late Frances Boscareno Ritchie and Richard L. Ball, Sr.
Survived by his loving wife of 35 years Carole Bergeron Ball, his children Richard Ball, III of St. Rose, LA, Michael Ball (Denise) of Metairie, LA, Pamela Cox (Hank) of Kenner, LA Wendy Felton Duplantier of Old Jefferson, LA, and Jennifer Felton Starr of Hickory, NC; his grandchildren Jessica Cox (Kirby Cade), Anna Self (Joe), Samantha Ball, Jordan Ball, Michael Ball, Jr., Aiden Ball, Raven Adams (Wesley), Justin Duplantier, Joey Trawick, and Jenna Montz; his great grandchildren Kira, Jas’myn, Kirby, Kingston, Michael, Layla, Evie, Capone, and Samara. He spent his working years as a laundry equipment repair technician. He was very proud to have served in the United States Marine Corps. In his words, “Once a Marine, always a Marine”.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial mass on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, masses preferred.
