Ruth, of Colleyville, Texas, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, January 4th, 2018 in Colleyville, Texas. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to all that knew and loved her. She was born on March 12, 1922 in Brawley, California to Loyal and Grace Strieby. Ruth was an award winning water color artist and lifetime member of the Trinity Arts Guild in Bedford, TX. It was there that she met her future husband, Ralph W. Rotthaus. Had Ralph not preceded Ruth in death in 2009, the two would have celebrated their 72nd anniversary on December 14th, 2017. Ruth is survived by her 3 children: daughter Donna Haydel and husband Roland of Hurst, TX, Patty Francis of Holly Lake Ranch and fiancé Tom Borders of Kaufman, TX, Ron Rotthaus and wife Stephanie of Colleyville, TX; 7 grandchildren: Amy Carl, Jeff Buster, Shaun Smith, Kristina Whitley, Patricia Smith, Christan Davis, and Brandon Rotthaus; and 7 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 9th, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church of Hurst, TX where Ruth was a member for more than 50 years. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Hurst or the Alzheimer’s Association.
