John Vito Grandolfo, Sr. passed away peacefully on January 6, 2018. He was 81 years old. He was the beloved husband for 57 years of the late Carolyn Smith Grandolfo. He is survived by his sons John Vito Grandolfo, Jr.(the late Jennifer) and Anthony Grandolfo, Sr. (Kimberly), and his daughter Lauren Godail (Charles, Jr.); his grandchildren Alissa, Anthony, Jr. (Mikki), Adam, Bridget, Christopher, Melissa (Cody), and Danielle; great grandchildren Brennan, Dré, Meykhen, Cruz, Max, Blaysen, Thomas and one on the way; he is also survived by his sister-in-law Madelyn and her spouse Dr. Raymond Garrity, brother-in-law Julius Smith, Jr., many nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog Bella. He is preceded in death by his parents Vito and Anna, and 2 brothers and 3 sisters. He was a US Army Veteran with 10 years of dedicated service, and retired from New Orleans Police Police Department.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial mass at Our Lady of Divine Providence Catholic Church, 1000 N Starrett Rd Metairie, Louisiana 70003, on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be held prior to mass from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Animal Rescue New Orleans, 271 Plauche St. New Orleans, LA 70123.
