WEST COLUMBIA - A Memorial Mass for Robert William “Bob” Dalton, 72, will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 12, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with burial in Celestial Memorial Gardens. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.



Mr. Dalton died Sunday, January 7, 2018. Born in Salinas, CA, he was a son of the late William Roy and Helen Besch Dalton. He served in the Navy during Vietnam. He was the owner of Dalcox Environmental Products. A former Vice President of Edisto Hunting Club, he loved hunting, fishing, and woodworking. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.



Surviving are his wife, Carolyn F. Dalton of West Columbia; daughter, Tonya “Shellie” Bonnette (William) of Cayce; sons, David Dalton (Lisa) of Lexington, Jason Dalton and James Dalton (fiancée, Meghan Sox), both of West Columbia; 4 grandsons and 1 granddaughter; 2 brothers, Ken Dalton (Dena) of Columbia, and Mike Dalton (Betsy) of Goose Creek, SC; numerous nieces and nephews; and his special companion, Penny.



In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Timothy Roy Dalton.



Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Bob and I were friends at Cardinal Newman High School. He was always a kind and happy person. In 1963 he was selected a a superlative as the friendliest in the class. Texas prayers go out to Bob and family.

I will always remember his sweet and kind smile. The Dalton and Stier families go back many many years. Bobby and I were classmates for many years and our families carpooled together. His mom was the greatest cook and would share with us.
I will remember him as a kind soft spoken gentle person. I'm sure y'all will miss him very much. . My prayers are for y'all at this very sad time.
