Leroy and Barbara we're next door neighbors and connected friends through their kids Jimmy and and Judy, who were my sister and I friends. As I was in and out of their home from a small child, Barbara cared for me like a second mother and Leroy included me in son Jimmy's activities. They were kind to me and had me and to others in our neighborhood.
Leroy dedicated years to help organize the NW Houston Lyons club boys baseball leagues and was an astute and winning coach, teaching many boys how to play. I observed him being a good man and a solid family man, who was a hard worker. Leroy, along with Barbara, included me in family activities too long to list. One significant one was inviting me to Fairbanks Baptists Church where I first believed into the Lord. Although I haven't visited in my adult life, I appreciate Leroy's care and concern from my early life, which left a positive and lasting impression on me. "Thank you Leroy and Barbara for making room in your heart for me; farewell till later."
