Tamara Chennault-Barnes Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 8, 2018.

Tamara Lynn Chennault-Barnes, age 50, of Frisco, TX passed away on Thursday January 4, 2018, at 12:21 PM. Tammy became sick after a few days of fighting a cold and was taken to the hospital, they determined she had pneumonia and was septic from the flu, her symptoms quickly progressed into kidney failure. The doctors were unable to save her because so many systems were failing at the same time.

Tamara was born March 23, 1967 in Dallas, Texas, to Alvin Chennault and Deborah Lynn Johnson.
Tammy grew up in Texas and attended schools in both Texas and Florida. Tammy fell in love with the beach and all its beauty. She attended Gulf Breeze high school and when finished she moved back to Texas. Tammy attended Richland college and worked in Insurance sales when she met her husband Steve Barnes. Tammy and Steve fell in love and got married on June 21, 1986. Tammy became a mother with her first child Andrea Lynn Barnes. Tammy decided to make a career change and went into banking.

Tammy's passion in life was always caring for animals, she loved and rescued animals of any type. She was not afraid to rescue wild animals that were hurt or injured. It broke her heart to see animals that were abandoned, hurt or abused. Since God had already chosen to send Noah ahead of Tammy I think he sent her every animal she could handle. Wherever Tammy moved animals would find her. Tammy was also a competitor and loved to play sports. When she met Steve she knew nothing about soccer. Tammy started playing with Steve and made a lot of friends playing. Tammy became a mother to her son Wesley Graham on December 6, 1991, she almost lost him at birth because the umbilical cord had been wrapped around his neck. Tammy continued to work, but with two children in the house it made it more difficult. Tammy took a second job working at a Dillard's at nights and it was there she put Andrea and Wesley into modeling shows at Dillard's.

Tammy loved to spoil her children, she would always sacrifice her own needs in place of Theirs. On March 20, 1996 she had her second daughter Melanie Nicole Barnes, by this time being a mother was a full time job and required all her attention. Tammy's days were filled, she now had two children playing sports and a newborn. She made sure her children were healthy, educated and pursed whatever their hearts desired. She spent countless hours at soccer, softball, cheerleading, choir, ice skating and basketball games and practices. When the kids started moving away and going to college she decided it was time to recharge her career and completed dental assisting school. When life brought challenges to her family she knew they needed her more than she needed her new career. Tammy also had a passion for photography and enjoyed capturing her children and family during all stages of their life. Tammy took a lot of pride in baking cakes for everyone, she had a creative eye and skilled hands and poured pride into her cakes. Her children blessed her with three beautiful granddaughters and once again she found a new passion to spoil and love her granddaughters, Makynleigh, Blayklee and Alayna. Tammy and Steve had just adjusted to a new stage in their blessed life when she was called home to Jesus, we can only assume someone as special as her with her gifts was in short supply in heaven.

Tammy was called home on Thursday January 4, We picture her with her loved ones standing in front of a meadow welcoming her to a garden with all the animals she cared for and the new ones that were waiting on her arrival. I envision that her and Charles Glen (brother) are tending to a new flock and I recall the following scripture.
"In that day the wolf and the lamb will live together; the leopard will lie down with the baby goat. The calf and the yearling will be safe with the lion, and a little child will lead them all." Isaiah 11:6

Tamara is survived by her husband, Steve Allen Barnes of Frisco, TX.
