Dorothy Lee Marney, 90 of Lubbock, Texas, passed away on January 7, 2018.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 12 at 10:00 AM at Resthaven Chapel, Lubbock, Texas. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Viewing will be Thursday evening.

Dorothy was born in Petersburg, TX March 24, 1927 to Jessie Jefferson and Mary Nova Allen and was raised in Ralls, TX where she met and married Truman Dean Marney in 1944. Dorothy and Truman were married for 69 loving years.

Dorothy is survived by her son Benny Max Marney and daughter-in-law, Dana Louise Marney of Cocoa, Fl, two grandchildren, Ronald Dean Marney II of Kansas City, MO, Anthony Glenn Marney of Houston, and one great grandaughter, Olivia Marney. She is also survived by her 2 sisters, Bonita Graham of Crocket, TX and Helen Sanders Of Lufkin,TX.
She was preceeded in death by her husband, Truman Dean Marney in 2013 and her son, Ronald Dean Marney in 1983.

In 1953, Dorothy and Truman moved from Ralls to Houston, where she raised her two boys and lived until 1992 when they retired and moved back to Lubbock.

Dorothy lived her entire adult life as a loving, devoted housewife and mother.

Favorite verse:

If It proves to be his will that I am first to go, and somehow I've a feeling' it will be.

When it comes your time to travel likewise, don't feel lost for I will be the first one you will see.

I'll be waiting on the far side banks of Jordan. I'll be sitting drawing pictures in the sand.

And when I see you coming, I will rise up with the shout, and come running through the shallow waters reaching for your hand
