Nancy Claire Huffman Murchison Griffin was beckoned by her heavenly angels on January 7, 2018 and became free of her failing body. It profoundly saddens her daughter, Lesley Caron Murchison and son and daughter in law, Trey and Paige Murchison to see her pass but take great comfort in knowing she was welcomed by those dear ones who passed before her and that she is at peace now. Also left behind to grieve are her brother, Raymond Huffman, her sister, Gwyn Willbanks Ross, her grandchildren, Shayna Murchison Malsam, Dawson Worth Murchison and Taryn Murchison Roose, along with five great grandchildren. She was dearly loved by her Griffin family – David, Frances, Merianne, Ron, Meredith, Brad, Katherine, Lauren and seven great grandchildren. Nephews, cousins and friends too numerous to count are also mourning her passing.
Nance entered the world in 1938, the first born to Homer and Beryl Burke Huffman in Kingsville, Texas. She spent her entire life in Texas, except for periodic excursions to travel the world, and was very proud of her heritage.
She was a spirited child, a devoted wife, a loving mother, a passionate teacher, an enthusiastic collector, a dedicated worker, a generous philanthropist, an unimaginable adventure creator and a masterful story teller, a committed friend, a sensitive soul and a faithful daughter of God. The memories of her will surely include her unfailing zest for life, her intense involvement in all surroundings, her unlimited compassion and kindness, her creativity, dreams and joy.
Burial is to be at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Beeville, Texas on Friday, January 12, 2018. A service commemorating her will be held at The Church at Horseshoe Bay on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 4:00 PM. A sharing of memories and celebration of a full and crazy life will follow. The family would suggest any memorials be directed to the Clyde and Nance Griffin Scholarship Fund, 704 2nd Street, Marble Falls, TX 78654 or Hill Country Community Theater, 4003 West 2147, Cottonwood Shores, TX 78657.

So very sorry to hear of her passing. A very sweet lady I had the pleasure of working for just recently. And my grandson, Gavin, thought of her much like his Grammy. He too, received some of the special $2 bills and I am sure he will hold to these dearly. Prayers for all the family & friends & may God comfort your hearts.

One of my favorite teachers. I will miss seeing your smiling face, always wanting New $2 bills, she loved giving those as tips, my Jessica was the recipient of several of those for singing. I was grateful that you presented Jessica with one of her scholarships, so that I could take pictures. Rest in Peace and give my regards to Griff. I can see ya'll dancing up there. Caron, you and your family are in my prayers. May you find peace soon.

Dear, dear, Nancy;
It is so difficult to say goodbye to a childhood friend. I will always hold you with love and fondness in my memory. It seems only a short time ago that we were walking the halls of King High School and discussing our teachers. You will be greatly missed... may you rest in peace, dear Friend.
