Bruce Lee Robertson was born February 28, 1952 in Olney,Texas to Lucy Fay and Clayton E. Robertson, Jr.
Visitation will be at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at University United Methodist Church. The service will be officiated by the Rev. Tom Medley. A family visitation will also be held at the church after the service.
Lee attended school at the San Jacinto Special Education class in Wichita Falls, Texas. He made many lifelong friends there. He worked at the Opportunity Workshop in Wichita Falls, the Louisiana Association for the Blind, and a workshop in Tulia, Texas. He was active in Special Olympics and participated in bowling, softball, basketball, and swimming. He never met a stranger and was always a kind and gentle soul. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys and University of Texas Longhorns fan. He loved to attend Texas Rangers games and Midwestern State basketball and football games. He was a member of University United Methodist Church. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Daybreak for their excellent care and to the 4th floor folks at United Regional for their help in making his journey easier. Everyone at Hospice deserves special thanks as well for their wonderful in-home care as well as at the center for is making him comfortable. He is in preceded in death by his father and mother and niece Amy Konovsky.
He is survived by his brother DeWayne Robertson and wife Dee Anna, nephews Shane Robertson and wife Dawn, Chris Robertson, Gerald West and wife Cortney and niece Chelle Robertson; grand nieces and nephews are Kirstin, Emily, and Braden Robertson, Ashley Konovsky, Kendra Turlington,Brittany Robertson, Michael West, Annabelle West, and Justin West; and one great grand niece and one great grand nephew. He was blessed by a loving church family that made him one of their own. Please give any gifts to The Good Samaritan Fund at University United Methodist Church, Hospice of Wichita Falls, or to the Special Olympics. Serving as pallbearers are Sam Kenshalo, Gary Southard, Bobby Reed, David Patrick, Ron Pool, and Russell Bryant.
