Steven Andre, age 61, of Tucson, Arizona passed away unexpectedly, and far too soon, on January 5th, 2018 at St. Joseph's Hospital surrounded by his family and those he loved.
Steven was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 30, 1956 to Charles and Helen (Tripp) Andre. He moved to Tucson when he was 1 year old, and grew up with his siblings Robert, William and Jeanette. He graduated from Rincon High School in 1974, and went on to get his Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology in 1991 and then his Masters in Education in1995.
On January 1, 1981, he married Moira (Notheisen) in Tucson and they were happily married for 37 years. He had three children, Leigh-Anne Andre Roberts, Lindsay Andre and Christopher Andre. He was a wonderful father, husband, and "Grampie", whose love and pride in his family shone through in everything that he did.
Steven was employed as a history, and then technology teacher for 26 years, with the majority of those years being at Safford Middle School in Tucson. Steven was a beloved and well-respected teacher and colleague, who was passionate about helping the kids that he worked with because he genuinely cared about their well-being and success.
Everyone who knew him will remember him as someone who was always ready with a joke or a cheesy pun, and as someone who, without hesitation, would always drop what he was doing to help anyone who needed it. He was passionate about the Wildcats, building model airplanes and World of Warcraft. He also kept a beautiful garden and home, and loved spending time with his wife, kids and grandkids.
Steven is survived by his wife Moira, his 3 children, Leigh-Anne, Lindsay and Christopher, his 2 grandchildren, Hayden and Jackson, his older brother William, and younger sister Jeanette. He will be missed beyond words, and well-remembered forever by those who loved him.
A celebration of life will be held at East Lawn Palms Mortuary, located at 5801 E. Grant Road in Tucson on January 21, 2018 at 10:00am. He will be laid to rest at the East Lawn Cemetery following the service. Donations can be made to the American Heart Association.

I met Steve when he student taught at Safford and after he came back after his years at Safford. The obituary says it all. He would never fail in his good nature, kindness, and sense of humor. I wrote a tribute to him at Stories from School Arizona. You can find it at http://bit.ly/2B8vx9p
